Tribal Gathering and Panama Jazz Festival Anchor a Big 2026 Music Calendar

Panama is quietly building one of the most interesting music calendars in Central America. The year opened with the Panama Jazz Festival (January 15-17), the country's most internationally respected music event, drawing headliners to venues across Panama City and providing a platform for leading Panamanian jazz musicians. It was followed by Tribal Gathering (February 27 – March 16) — an 18-day electronic music and culture festival on a remote Caribbean beach, combining DJ programming with Indigenous-led cultural activities that make it unlike any other festival in the hemisphere.

Looking ahead, Panama Carnival runs in the weeks before Lent and floods the city streets with parades, concerts, and water fights that are one of Latin America's most energetic public celebrations. The urban format — parade-style events, performances along designated routes, waterfront concerts — contrasts with the quieter, boutique ambiance of Casco Viejo.
